Spotting Intermediate Level Moves
Learn safe and effective spotting techniques for Intermediate Level Tricks. The Pole Studio spotting method encourages the highest level of safety and promotes student independence. Our focus lies in strengthening and technique building rather than an over-reliance on spotting and lifting.
Planning & Teaching Classes
This course includes a detailed and informative breakdown of the ‘how to’s’ of planning and teaching classes. This is the part of the course when the class structure is explained and illustrated with examples. The class template is provided so that trainee instructors can practice writing their own plans. This is the class planning structure used by The Pole Studio across the UK.
Learning and Teaching styles are discussed to help trainee instructors understand the varying needs of the students. This will help in the successful planning of Pole Fitness classes.
Intermediate Level gripping positions are also covered in Panning & Teaching Classes.. All the different ways of holding the pole have specific names and they’re worth knowing as they will assist your move breakdowns when instructing.
Conditioning Exercises are another essential component of class planning. With over 15 exercises (not including multiple variations) all parts of the body are conditioned through ‘Pole Conditioning’. Conditioning exercises are relevant at all levels of Pole Fitness teaching, especially when building strength for more difficult moves.
Conditioning improves strength, technique and encourages balance in the body and therefore helps to prevent injury.
Students of this course will learn how to choreograph and teach Intermediate Level routines. Routines comprise of sequences of tricks, spins, transitional moves and floor work.
Intermediate Level syllabus
Detailed breakdowns of each of the 20+ movements are provided within the learning resource pack. Move breakdowns are used to help trainee instructors learn how to explain the syllabus repertoire as well as discover common links between moves. This knowledge will also enable trainees to analyse and explain movements outside of The Pole Studio’s syllabus.
If you want to find out which moves are covered in this course, do not hesitate to get in touch with us at The Pole Studio.
Alternative Class Planning Templates
Pole Circuit, Pole Pyramids and Pole Vs Bodyweight are some additional class planning templates to keep class plans fresh and challenging. Using your repertoire of conditioning exercises and pole moves, find innovative ways to avoid the fitness plateau and prevent boredom with these alternative class planning templates. This chapter also covers Pole Expression Choreography. Guidelines for choreography, how to execute movements and working with students to create their own choreography are all covered.
Assessment Workbook
We provide an additional workbook that guides trainee instructors through every element of their assessments. You will learn what is required during the 30-minute practical assessment presentation and the 60-minute multiple choice written assessment which takes place on the third day of the course. All assessments are structured with a numerical points system, allowing no room for subjectivity. Trainees will know exactly what is required of them to pass the assessments with the highest possible marks.
Preparation and Clothing
Bring drinking water, snacks and a light lunch as there will be breaks during the course. Please check if your course venue has a cafe/restaurant if you intend to buy lunch on site. Wear comfortable gym clothes that you can move freely in. Shorts are required in order to grip the pole with your legs. You may wear trainers or go bare foot during the practical sessions. Bring a small towel to wipe the pole. Please do not wear any moisturisers on your hands, arms and legs. Moisturisers make your skin and the poles slippery which is dangerous for you and other students. Slipping on the pole will also prevent you from achieving the techniques.
You must be in good health in order to participate in this course.
